Institute of Applied Quality Management was established in Kolkata in the year of 1993 by Sambhu Chakraborty who is a Management Graduate and started his career just after passing out from the Management school.

It was the time when ISO 9000 Quality Management System certification was started in India and it was high time to start training and consultancy services for ISO 9000 Quality Management System. In the year of 1998 Institute of Applied Quality Management launched 4 months certificate course on ISO 9000 Quality Management System, this was the first certificate course on ISO 9000 Quality Management System in India.

Course had unique feature 3month classroom and one-month project work on ISO 9000 Quality Management System. It was Eastern Indias’ first quality management training Institute for practical learning on ISO 9000 quality management system. This was the first course to train the Management representative of the various organizations.

Institute of Applied Quality Management is also the 1st and the only Quality Management training Institute engaged in NABL Accreditation of Industrial and Medical laboratories. We are the only NABL accreditation/Laboratory Accreditation, NABH Accreditation and Health care accreditation consultants in Kolkata and Eastern India. NABL accreditation and Health care accreditation concept in eastern India is promoted by the Institute of Applied Quality Management. Institute of Applied Quality Management started its training and consultancy in NABL accreditation of Industrial laboratory and later it has given key focus in health sector.

In the year of 2000 Institute of Applied Quality Management promoted a joint workshop with NABL and it was the 1st NABL workshop on Medical labs and accreditation movement for medical labs in Kolkata.

Institute of Applied Quality Management has undertaken highest number of NABL Accreditation assignments in India. Institute of Applied Quality Management worked as NABL Accreditation and Laboratory Accreditation consultant for more than 75 laboratories in India In the year 2006, Institute of Applied Quality Management expanded its activities to Hospital Accreditation. B.M. Birla Heart Research Centre is the 1st Hospital in India to get NABH Accreditation and Institute of Applied Quality Management rendered total training, guidance and consultancy support to get NABH Accreditation. Institute of Applied Quality Management is also the only NABH accreditation consultants in Kolkata and Eastern India.

Institute of Applied Quality Management and Indian Institute of Port Management is now jointly conducting various NABL and NABH accreditation training program in Kolkata.

Institute of Applied Quality Management is also the only Kolkata based consultant in India for College of American Pathologist (CAP) Accreditation. B. M. Birla Heart Research Centre and Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) is the first and only two hospital in Eastern India got CAP Accreditation. Institute of Applied Quality Management rendered total consultancy support for CAP Accreditation.

BDS Management is a sister concern of Institute of Applied Quality Management and established in the year of 1999 to cater consultancy services in various aspect Management services. In the year of 2008 it is restructured as only HR management consultants. . BDS Management Inc has further developed their infrastructure by employing competent manpower from the healthcare to serve the need of the healthcare organizations.

Mr. Sambhu Chakraborty

He is a Management Graduate, He completed his MBA in the year of 1992 and after passing from the management school he started his career as Management consultant and promoted Institute of Applied Quality Management in the year 1993.

He has rendered consultancy services to more than 100 organizations for development of Quality Management System in the Industry, Engineering laboratories, Medical laboratories and Hospitals. He has conducted various training and workshop on ISO 9000 and NABL accreditation on Laboratories. More than 2000 people were trained by him in the field of Quality Management.

He was also selected as a draft standard review committee member of Good clinical laboratory Practices by Indian Council of Medical Research, a Govt of India organization.

Mrs Maitreyi Chakraborty

She is M.Phil in Economics, She started her career as secretary of Institute of Applied Quality Management. BDS Management Inc. is initially promoted by her. She also started career as Quality Management consultant in the Engineering sector. She is the key policy maker of the organization resources, strategy, growth and development. Pensol Industries Ltd, Newar Ispat, Tirupati Engineering etc. are some of the projects she worked as consultant.
